LANDSCAPE DESIGN

The consultation process is an integral part of the design journey.

We take the time to get to know our clients and their vision for their projects and combine this with our experience. We consider a wide range of factors, including the site, the environment, topography, soil type, drainage, flora types and how the space will be used.

Our experienced landscape designers will then create a tailored design that respects the environment, is aesthetically pleasing and adds true value to your property. We focus on plant selection that minimises water usage and encourages biodiversity, and we always avoid using toxic materials. We also strive to create a landscape that requires minimal maintenance in the long term, through better planning of a natural landscape.

Design Process.

At Byron Bay Ranga, We design our landscapes to honour the land, respect the environment, and integrate native flora and fauna.

Our aim is to help you through all stages of the design process, from initial consultation to final landscape construction and ongoing garden maintenance.

  • With every new client, we start with a verbal consultation. This is a very important part of the process as it allows us to capture and develop a detailed brief. In this conversation, we will discuss ideas, council requirements and the property’s potential. The consultation usually takes around 60-90 minutes and is priced depending on the location of your property, whether it is local to Sydney, interstate or overseas.

    .

  • We will send you visual aids in the form of drawings and photos via email, which will help you to understand the overall atmosphere and proposed materials, planting schemes and structural elements. This is a collaborative process, and we welcome your feedback which will be used to refine the final design. After the design is completed, we will arrange a second site visit to present the plan to you, along with any required detailed drawings. Typically, a design takes us 2-4 weeks to produce

  • Following the completion of your design, a quote for construction and implementation will be handed over for your consideration. This provides you clarity on cost to proceed before you go through additional costs of council approval and more detailed construction documentation.

  • If your project needs a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) or a Development Application (DA), Byron Bay Ranga will create, submit the documentation and manage the submission with the local council. Byron Bay Ranga is experienced in difficult blocks and challenging submissions. As a consequence, we bring this into the initial consultation to advise on any potential knock backs.

  • Detailed construction drawings of your landscape design are essential in providing clarity to our on-site team (and to you) when it comes to installing your project.

We will arrange engineering, council permits, insurance and a contract to prepare for construction of your landscaping project. They also underpin best practice and are critical in helping us to deliver a first-rate landscape design.
